So we’re hearing this Ed Westwick fellow is kind of popular.

Understatement of the century? Probably. There’s no denying that Gossip Girl‘s Chuck Bass is one of TV’s most iconic characters, with his outrageous outfits, snarky one-liners and ability to straddle the line between leading man and villain. There’s a reason he’s called the Dark Knight. Another reason he’s so popular? He’s one-half of one of the show’s fan favorite couples Chuck and Blair, also known belovedly as “Chair.”

We sat down with Westwick to talk about what’s ahead for Chuck and Blair (Leighton Meester), Chuck’s ability to defeat death, his feelings about Chuck’s evolution over the series and whether or not he’s ready to say goodbye to the show…

Party Lines: Ed Westwick at the World Premiere of ‘War Horse’

Posted by Brittany with No Comments

At the world premiere of War Horse, Steven Spielberg’s adaptation of Michael Morpurgo’s 1982 children’s book about the relationship between a boy and his horse separated during World War I, Vulture asked Gossip Girl‘s Ed Westwick which of Spielberg’s other movies is his favorite. “Jurassic Park,” he answered without missing a beat. “I remember the cover for the VHS: ‘An adventure 65 million years in the making.’” His favorite scene, he adds, is “when the guy gets eaten on the toilet. But my greatest memory is the whole thing.” When we asked if he gets emotionally attached to animals, à la Jeremy Irvine’s character in the film, he had this to say: “As humans, we’re such emotional beings … unless you are a real coldhearted individual, stone-cold killer, then you’re probably not.”

Ed Westwick to the Rescue

Posted by Brittany with No Comments

“Gossip Girl” star Ed Westwick took out the trash the other night at the Barrow Street Alehouse in the West Village. The British actor stepped in to remove an unruly patron who knocked all of the drinks off the bar after the bartender refused to serve him Guinness. “Ed lifted him up by the collar and dragged him out,” a spy said, adding that after Westwick removed the “aggressive and violent” boozer, he calmly returned to his group of friends “like nothing happened.”

Below is an interview that author Cassandra Claire did with “Clockwork Prince” narrator, Ed Westwick. In the interview, he covers many topics including whether or not he’d like to play the character of Will Herondale in a film adaption of the book series.

“I would love to. I would love to,” said Westwick. “It would be a great role. Just from reading the book—there’s a lot of depth there. It’s something I’d relish getting to be involved it. Let’s all convince the studio to hire me and we’ll be all good.”
